 The ASEAN National Committee on Culture and Information was formally established in 2000 by a decree in which the Ministry of Information was assigned as Chairperson and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts as Vice Chair of the committee respectively. A number of other ministries - eg the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Women and Veterans, the Ministry of Economics and Finance and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications - are assigned membership of the committee.
