The Department of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture is responsible for performing and fine arts development, performing troupes and arts training. Its duties include: studying and planning for the development of fine arts, including music, stage plays and fine art throughout the country, and monitoring and supervising the implementation of plans of the Department; studying and formulating regulations, policies and laws on arts activities throughout the country; studying and submitting for approval requests to set up arts associations and businesses and censoring arts cassettes, CDs and DVDs; planning for the training and upgrading of personnel and their placement; and managing the following, which operate under its control:
