In addition to the majority Lao population, Austro-Thai speakers are represented here by Phuan, Tai Daeng, Tai Dam and Tai Khao (Tai-Kadai/Tay-Thai/South Western Tay-Thai/Tai), Tai Nua and Tai Soei (Tai-Kadai/Tay-Thai/Northern Tay-Thai), Tai Add and Tai Poua (Tai-Kadai/Tay-Thai/Unclassified Tay-Thai), and Hmong and Yao (Hmong-Mien); Austro-Asiatic speakers by Khang, Khmu and Xinh Mun (Mon-Khmer/Khmuic); and Sino-Tibetan speakers by Haw (Han) and Phunoi (Lolo-Burmish).
