Pakse Art Dancers Ensemble was originally established in 1976 following the merger of the former Champassak Provincial Lam Siphandone and Traditional Song and Dance Troupes. Divided into two in 1978 and once again reunited in 1982, the troupe was reduced significantly in size in 1985. It performs lam siphandone and a variety of traditional songs and dances by various ethnic groups, though modified to suit contemporary presentation and modern instrumental accompaniment. Pakse Art Dancers Ensemble performs throughout the province and has also toured to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang Provinces and to Thailand, Cambodia and Việt Nam. It has won several government awards.
