Based at the Ban Anou campus of the National Faculty of Fine Arts in central Vientiane, the Lao Fine Artists' Association's Exhibition Halls are used mainly to display work by members of the Lao Fine Artists' Association and staff/students of the school, but are also available for visiting exhibitions. Exhibition Hall 1 is part of the Faculty shop and is normally used to display paintings and craft items produced by students and staff of the school, although it can be made available for visiting exhibitions. The Association is currently seeking financial assistance to improve its lighting. Exhibition Hall 2 is located in the classroom area at the rear and is also available for both in-house and visiting work. At one end of the room is a large untitled painting of a local religious festival by French expatriate painter Marc Leguay (1910-2001), who opened the first fine art school in Laos during the 1930s; commissioned for an international stamp exhibition in Sri Lanka in 1967 and painted onto 15 square metres of plywood panels, the painting was recently restored in France and is now on permanent display here.
