Hồ Chí Minh Museum is housed in the Nhà Rồng (‘Dragon House’) Wharf at the junction of the Bến Nghé Channel and the Sài Gòn River. The Wharf was originally opened in November 1862 by a French shipping company and is from here that the 21 year-old Hồ Chí Minh set sail on a French ship named the Admiral Latouche Treville in June 1911. The building was converted into a museum in 1979 and now displays a wide range of artefacts, documents and photographs relating to the late President’s life and work, focusing on his activities in the south of Việt Nam and his relations with the ethnic minority peoples. |
