 Established in 1979 following the merger of the Đoàn Ca kịch Triều Châu (Teochew (Chaozhou) Music Theatre Company) and the Đoàn Ca kịch Quảng Đông (Guangdong Music Theatre Company), United Triều Quảng Music Theatre Company comprises two troupes - the Teochew (Chaozhou) ensemble and the Guangdong ensemble. It performs both Vietnamese cải lương and the unique hybrid Chinese-language genre cải lương hồ quảng, plus a range of Chinese music and dance and Chinese opera.
