Located some 42 kilometres from Kompong Cham provincial town, Banteay Preah Nokor was constructed in the 9th century in a style which resembles that of Sambor Prei Kuk. The 2,500 square metre site is surrounded by a rampart and incorporates two main temple groups. Located at the summit of a hill, Prasat Thom comprises a group of three towers, only two of which are still standing. Located to the east of the Prasat Thom group, Prasat Theat once comprised six towers, but today only one remains.
