Launched in December 2000, the National Festival of Khmer Weaving features work by traditional Khmer textiles from many different provinces. Envisaged as an annual event and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the festival seeks to contribute to the revival of Khmer weaving, to encourage young people to take up the profession and to help the public understand and appreciate this ancient craft. Works are displayed in the National Cultural Centre
