Through its Faculty of Science, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), Cambodia's oldest and largest university offers a wide selection of undergraduate degree courses ranging from media management to sociology, psychology, computer science, biochemistry, environmental science, mathematics, Khmer literature, English, French and Japanese. RUPP also offers postgraduate degrees in tourism and linguistics in conjunction with overseas universities from Australia, Italy and France. In the future, the University plans to increase the number and diversity of courses offered by adding more subjects in applied science education as well as in undergraduate linguistics and Korean. RUPP offers all first year students a cross-disciplinary education, which is unique in Cambodia. This complements students' in-depth training in their chosen fields and gives them an understanding of different ways of thinking. This general education is a valuable asset to any employer, as it makes students more flexible and capable of dealing with challenges which are inevitable in today's rapidly-hanging society. RUPP has already developed enduring links with a wide range of Cambodian and international organisations, and is recognised regionally as Cambodia's only member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN). Its immediate priorities for development are to provide scholarships for the postgraduate education of faculty staff, advanced equipment for its science laboratories, and up-to-date books, research journals and online access for its libraries. It is particularly keen to develop its Hun Sen Library, which is already Cambodia's most extensive and modern library. The University currently has over 5,000 students across three campuses and approximately 200 teaching staff, of whom seven have PhDs, 66 Master degrees and the remainder undergraduate qualifications. There are in addition over 176 administrative and support staff. Various international and non-governmental organisations also provide adjunct faculty members.
