The Japan Foundation Library maintains a collection for Japanese studies and international exchanges. It serves researchers from abroad who are currently working in Japan. Its collections covers mainly Japanese culture, history and society as well as a large number of foreign titles published before the Second World War with 51,000 publications of which 26,500 is in foreign titles and 24,500 is Japanese titles, doctoral dissertations on Japanese Studies of which 3,470 are American, 50 are British and 80 are German. Amongst them 3,600 titles are available as microfilms and microfiches. |
