The Japan Association for Cultural Exchange (ACE Japan) was established in 1994 as a non-profit organisation funded by the Japan Foundation. Its aims are to promote international cultural exchange activities by establishing a close network with the Japan Foundation and other cultural organisations in Japan and overseas. It functions as a clearing house for the provision of information, a reference point and referral services on contemporary Japanese society and culture, publications and databases.
