Toshiya Eto Violin Competition in KodairaOrganised by Kodaira City Cultural Promotion Foundation with support from Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Tokyo Metropolitan Television Broadcasting Corporation and Tokyo FM Broadcasting Co Ltd, this annual competition seeks to find young talented musicians and to help them explore to the world, at the same time contributing to musical culture as well as encouraging young musicians. Held at Kodaira Citizens’ Cultural Hall, the competition is designed in accordance with the musical policy of famed violinist Toshiya Eto, who lives in Kodaira. It is open to contestants of all nationalities in the following age groups: Junior Artists must be between 12-16, and Young Artists 17-26, on the July registration date. After a screening, a semi-final performance and a final performance, the winners are offered the following prizes: Junior Artists: First Prize - scholarship of 200,000 Yen plus certificate; Second Prize - scholarship of 100,000 Yen plus certificate; Third Prize - scholarship of 50,000 Yen plus certificate; Young Artists: First Prize - cash prize 500,000 Yen plus certificate; Second Prize cash prize 300,000 Yen plus certificate; and Third Prize - cash prize 150,000Yen plus certificate.
