 The Tokyo Opera Nomori Festival was founded in 2005 by Seiji Ozawa, music director of the Vienna State Opera. Based at the Tokyo Metropolitan Festival Hall, it presented the inaugural performance of Richard Strauss’s Elektra in 2005 and followed this with a co-production of Verdi's Otello with the Vienna State Opera in 2006. In 2007 the festival will feature works by Wagner and in 2008 works by Tchaikovsky. |
