The responsibilities of the Department of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister's Office include: (i) monitoring and collecting information with regard to the operation of the mechanism of the government in general, of ministries, sectors and local administration in particular, and supplying necessary information and data for research analysis and finalisation of plans and policies of the government; (ii) realising all the orders of the Prime Minister, helping him to formulate projects in each planning period and to monitor and support their implementation; (iii) playing a role in co-ordination according to its mandate or to authorisation from the Prime Minister, helping the Prime Minister to follow and guide the operation of the agencies under the Prime Minister's Office and to serve as a co-ordinator amongst these agencies; (iv) arranging meetings of the Cabinet and preparing for the Prime Minister's reports to meetings of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the National Assembly; and (v) making contact with the Prime Minister's offices of fraternity and friendly countries for the exchange of experiences according to the agreement of the government.
