Landskappleiken is a massive gathering of folk musicians and dancers from all over the country. OIn recent years there have been between 1,000 and 1,100 participants annually, viewed by some 2,500-3,000 visitors. Competitions take place from Thursday morning to Saturday evening in the Sports Hall and the Community Centre, where the best in Norwegian folk music and dance may be experienced. In addition to this the festival incorporates an extensive concert programme which includes a church concert, two intimate concerts, an evening of culture at the Sports Hall and, of course, a Master Concert featuring all the class winners at the Sports Hall on Sunday. There is also a Dance Festival featuring old traditional music performed by the Folk Musician Society and other folk music groups, held at the Sports Hall and the Community Centre.
