Norwegian Folk and Popular Song ArchiveThe Norwegian Folk and Popular Song Archive was founded in 1983 as a national collection of books of popular and folk songs, manuscripts, collections of published and unpublished sound recordings, recordings of concerts and popular theatre and various posters. The archive is, together with the Norwegian heritage collection, responsible for a database comprising all Norwegian text and melody scores from the medieval period.
The Archives share premises with the Music Information Centre, the Norwegian Jazz Archives (NJA) and the National Library of Norway’s National Music Collection at the Solli Plass, Oslo.
