Key exponents of the so-called 'Bergen Wave', the hi-energy, percussion-driven electronica outfit Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band were formed by DJ Erlend Sellevold (aka Ralph Myerz), Thomas Lonnheim and Tarjei Strom. They take their name from filmmaker Russ Meyer and his cameraman Jack Herren. Their debut EP was A Special Morning in 1999. They then joined Mikal Telle's Tellé Records to produced a limited edition EP Nikita (1999). The success of the single also secured them a signing with LA's Emperor Norton label with whom they released Clouds. Their 2004 album Your New Best Friends was released in Norway to coincide with the Destroy Norway Tour.
