Music Export Norway A/S was established in 2000 by the Norwegian music industry. It provides access to information on Norwegian artists and companies. In addition, it assists the Norwegian music industry by organising international trade show participation and presentations designed to increase the worldwide awareness of Norwegian music.

The six organisations behind the initiative are International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), Norway, FONO - Norwegian Independent Record Producers Association, Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists, the Gramart, the Musicians Union and the Music Information Centre.

The company's aim is to be a service and resource centre for exporters of Norwegian music products. Primarily the company concentrates its work on strengthening Norwegian music products of commercial value.

The company prepares international export activities and participate in seeking possibilities for exporting Norwegian music products by attending international music tradeshows, conferences, Internet presentations etc.

When suitable the company seeks to co-operate with related organisations and institutions that normally use music in their marketing.

Music Export Norway A/S is the official organiser of national stands at the music tradeshows Midem in Cannes, France and Popkomm in Berlin, Germany.
