The Norwegian National Ballet is a 46-member classical and modern ballet troupe which performs 15 major productions (c 50 performances total) every year, based at the 1,051-seat Norwegian Opera House. The Ballet undertakes extensive national and international touring.
Norwegian National Ballet has an illustrious history of working with the leading choreographers of the day, notably Glenn Tetley, Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen and Mats Ek. The company visited London in 1999 to present Michael Corder's Romeo and Juliet at Sadler's Wells Theatre. In 2006 it returned to the UK to present a ravishing new production of 'The Sleeping Beauty' at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. Set by Janek Schergen and designed by Sandra Woodall, the work opened to great acclaim.
