The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, also known as Harmonien (’the Harmony’) is a 97-piece orchestra founded in 1765 which performs some 110 concerts each year from the classical and contemporary philharmonic repertoire. It is based at the 1,500-seat Grieghallen and has toured overseas to Japan. See also Harmonien String Quartet.
The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra collaborates frequently with the West Norwegian Opera.
