 The Citizens Theatre is the major producing theatre for Glasgow and the west of Scotland. Internationally reputed for its repertoire the Citizens’ is one of the rare few self-producing houses in Scotland. By also inviting a diverse range of touring work into the theatre, the aim is to offer a powerful mix of productions that seal the Citizens’ reputation as the place to see theatre in Glasgow.The Citizens Theatre is home to the Citizens Company, which produces its own shows from September until April each year, and since 2006 to TAG Theatre Company, one of the key companies providing theatre and educational activities for children and young people across Scotland.
The theatre also hosts the Scottish Youth Theatre (SYT) Summer Festival and operates a year-round programme of education and outreach activity.
The Citizens' and TAG now work together to create an unrivalled range of work in Scotland, emanating from the one building. Together they provide high quality main house theatre and studio productions, touring theatre for children and young people, a young company, a community company and a diverse range of education and outreach work.
