HorsecrossHorsecross runs Perth Theatre and Concert Hall, using both venues to offer music, drama, new media, comedy and family events.
Horsecross evolved out of Perth Theatre as the new agency delivering cultural activities in Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre and to all communities across the Perth and Kinross area. Horsecross aims to put this part of Scotland firmly on the cultural map both nationally and internationally.
The idea was to have the new concert hall overseen by an organisation which already has a close and well established connection to the local community. ‘We loved the name and the idea that we were bringing the area back to life with a family friendly identity firmly rooted in the local area’, says Jane Spiers, Chief Executive, Horsecross. ‘It marks the beginning of a new cultural life in the city’.
The pioneering Threshold artspace in the foyer of the concert hall holds a bank of 22 screens, sophisticated sound system and giant projection wall. Threshold adds a whole new dimension to concert-going, not to mention the large space where children can have some interactive fun.
