This overview is an updated version of the research paper 'Libraries in Slovenia' by Vilenka Jakac Bizjak, which was prepared for the research project Mapping the Infrastructures of the Museums, Archives and Libraries Sectors in Slovenia and Hungary, October 2002-March 2003 (Visiting Arts for Re:Source, the Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries, London 2003).
