One Slovene secondary school - Nova Gorica Grammar School - currently offers an Art Grammar School (umetniška gimnazija) programme specialising in drama. At tertiary level, undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes in Theatre Studies are offered by the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT).

In the non-profit sector the Maska Institute runs the Maska Symposium, a seminar on contemporary performing arts comprising lectures and workshops. Bunker Institute also runs a vocational training programme called Medana Education as part of a residency at Medana (cf Days of Poetry and Wine Medana) as well as vocational training in performing arts education at the Stara Elektrarna - Old Power Station in Ljubljana. The new KUD Integral has organised the PreGlej drama reading sessions at the Glej Theatre. Ana Monró Theatre runs an International training programme and symposium on street theatre within the Ana Desetnica International Street Theatre Festival, while Vitkar Institute organises vocational training in contemporary circus theatre.
