The Centre operates under the auspices of the Department of Slovene Languages and Literature, University of Ljubljana. Its activities are arranged in five specific programmes: courses of Slovene as a second/foreign language, seminars on Slovene language, literature and culture, an Examination Centre, and the annual symposium Obdobja ('Periods').
