With its 60 year-old local tradition, Radio Maribor is the radio programme unit of the RTV Slovenia Regional Broadcasting Centre Maribor, which has around 120 employees. Radio Maribor covers the whole region of North Eastern Slovenia via two FM transmitters (93.1 MHz at Pohorje and 90.4 MHz at Boč) and one AM transmitter (558 KHz).
Radio Maribor broadcasts two distinct services - MM1 and the Radio Si (Radio Slovenia International). It is also responsible for Hungarian minority programming in Slovenia, see MMR below.
The programmes of MM1 are aimed at all strata of the population, and are broadcast every day from 5am through to 10pm. Priority is given to the distribution of information about important regional events and to Slovene national programmes.
Radio Slovenia International (Radio Si) broadcasts in German and English for an international audience and is a more relaxed station with lots of music interspersed by information, current affairs, business news, culture and sports in Slovenia and abroad.
