CrossConversationCut originated in 1998 when Zvonka Simčič began working at Ljubljana Women's Centre, linking social space with artistic production. In November 2001 the Automata/CrossConverstationCut platform was established to produce collaborative projects by Zvonka Simčič and Tanja Vujinović (Euroscreen21, Zero Visibility project, Ctheory Multimedia NetNoise in Web Biennial in Istanbul) as well as the initiatives of other artists and groups (video production, performance, digital photography, installations and sound projects). In 2006 the platform was divided into two units, EXSTAT run by Tatjana Vujinovic and CCC run by Zvonka Simcic (detailed information on the Automata/CCC projects 2002-2006 is available at http://www.i-i-i-i.org).

Zvonka Simčič creates film, digital prints and computer animations. She has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Arts in Denver, the Kunst Palast in Duesseldorf, the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Strasbourg and the Kunsthaus in Merano, Italy, and at the International Forum Medienturm in Graz.
