Originating with the organisational arm of the 'Novi Rock' festival (1980-2000), ŠKUC Ropot was established as a promotional arm of the ŠKUC Association and record label in 2000 when the other half of the 'Novi Rock' organisational team went off to form Klubski maraton (Radio Študent). Since that time it has organised the annual 'Novi Novi Rock' event as well as a variety of other events.
