The Celje regional office of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia is responsible for cultural heritage in the territory of 34 municipalities, where seven cultural monuments declared of high importance by the state are located, among them the Baroque Church at Sladka gora, the old Christian Baptistry, the Palace in Celje and the Open-air Museum in Rogatec. The office has a branch in Podsreda.
