Established in 1994, the Science and Research Centre of Koper (SRC Koper) became the research centre of the newly-established University of Primorska in March 2003. It comprises the Institute for Mediterranean Humanities and Social Studies, SRC Koper, the Institute for Mediterranean Humanities and Social Studies, the Institute for Biodiversity Studies, the Institute for Mediterranean Agriculture and Olive Growing, the Institute for Mediterranean Heritage, the Institute for Linguistic Studies, the Institute for Historical Studies and the Institute for Kinesiology Research. Its infrastructure comprises a Laboratory for Physical and Chemical Analyses, an Information Technology Centre, Annales Publishing House, a Library, a Public Opinion Centre and the Euro Info Centre (EIC) Koper.
