The Landscape Architecture programme began in the 1950s with the Urban Horticulture programme. Postgraduate studies in Landscape Architecture began in 1972 and in 1976 a graduate studies programme in Landscape Architecture was launched. In 1996 the Department of Landscape Architecture was created with three programme units: Landscape Culture, Landscape Planning and Landscape Technique.
