Computer Science teaching at the University of Ljubljana was initiated as early as 1973, and since 1982 it has been an autonomous studies subject. Today the Faculty of Computer and Information Science has about 1,392 undergraduate and 146 postgraduate students. It offers undergraduate, taught postgraduate and guided PhD research programmes in Computer and Information Science.
In 2003 intermedia artists from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science initiated ArtNetLab, most of whose projects have since been developed in collaboration with the Faculty's Computer Vision Laboratory.
