The Faculty of Social Sciences is one of the largest academic units of the University of Ljubljana, with over 4,000 students and more than 20 undergraduate and graduate programmes in Political Science, Communication and Cultural Studies. The Faculty of Social Sciences prepares its students for professional careers in competitive environments, throughout Slovenia and beyond, through appropriate coursework that is also designed to increase intercultural understanding of the contemporary world and encourage international co-operation. Its teaching and research mission addresses pertinent national and international issues at a time when globalisation demands new perspectives on life in a multicultural world. In this spirit, the Faculty of Social Sciences offers instruction and conducts research in English, French, German, Italian, Serbo-Croat and Russian. The Faculty incorporates a Research Institute, the Jože Goričar Central Social Sciences Library, the FDV Publishing House and a Computer Centre.
