The Cineast Cultural and Artistic Association has organised the annual Festival of Independent Film and Video since 1996. The festival usually showcases around 50 films, the best of which are awarded the Festival of Independent Film and Video Prize in four categories: documentary film, feature film, experimental film and animation film. Special mentions are given for film soundtracks and for films shorter than three minutes.
