The Goethe-Institut Ljubljana was established in April 2004 in Ljubljana city centre, expanding the programme activities of the old German Reading Room, which had existed within the Central Technological Library, University of Ljubljana since 1995. The Institute offers detailed information relating to German and European issues, especially in the field of education and culture. It organises events related to German language, literature and other art disciplines and promotes artistic and cultural exchanges. At the initiative of the Goethe-Institut in Ljubljana and in co-operation with 16 European agencies and embassies in Slovenia, the Days of European Film took place in the framework of Festival of Slovene Film at the Portorož Auditorium in October 2007. |
