Launched in 2006 by the Public Fund for Cultural Activities to complement its annual Linhart's Meetings, the Visions Festival is a showcase of the best in Slovene youth theatre. The first festival was organised in Ptuj and presented 10 performances selected by an expert judge from an initial 40. The second Visions Festival of 2007 was held in Maribor and involved the presentation of eight Slovene performances and one from Hungary.
The Vizionar Award is conferred for the best achievements in different categories.
