The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Studies was established in 1994 by University of Maribor to facilitate co-operation between the scientific and research spheres and the macroeconomic environment in line with EU policy on scientific and technological development. The Centre stimulates networking between research groups, facilitates research applications and exchanges, publicises achievements and undertakes activities aimed at popularising science. Within the framework of the University of Maribor, the centre is the main organisation responsible for initiatives in the field of interdisciplinary research.
