The Ljubljana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival was originally launched in 1984 within the Magnus Festival, and as such is the oldest gay and lesbian film festival in Europe. Film screenings take place at the Slovenian Cinematheque. Attendance figures are growing annually and the festival has managed to form its own audience. In the last few years the festival's programme has consisted of gay and lesbian films from all over the world. The festival is a review and not a competition. It is organised by the Roza Club Ljubljana, part of the ŠKUC Association, with financial support from the Ljubljana Urban Municipality, the Slovene Office of Youth Affairs, ŠKUC-Magnus and the British Council Slovenia.
